geeky thing#16 – google maps in kc

(map and street view of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art)
It is getting a little creepy out here…now when you go to google maps and type in an address, google is starting to add a photo in the blurb that has the address pointing to the map called “street view”.  You don’t need any special software, just search and go.

Click on that photo and start driving around the virtual, yet real  neighborhood.  You can move down the street by clicking the arrows, turn about (the arrows next to the zoom tool).  Yeah – like you are driving down the street…
Google has been mapping KC fairly extensively, most streets on the Missouri side are there – luckily my little block was skipped…I am not so sure that I want to be that visible.
(by the by – cool mac tip – if you control-click on an address in your phone, up pops the google map – no typing necessary – woohoo – oh, this might be a leopard feature)
