geeky thing # 2 – creating a side bar of my photos from flickr on my blog

Flickr calls them “dynamic badges.” Once you’ve logged into Flickr, add your Blogger blog to your Flickr account. And set up your blog.
You can create a dynamic badge of public Flickr photos to add to your web site . Walk through the process that the instructions guide you through – it is easy.  Once you get to the html code (in the box towards the bottom) select it all and copy it.

If you are wondering where to add the code:  (I think it is easier to do this with 2 browser windows open, just in case )

  • In the other browser (or not) go to your blog, and click on customize in the upper right corner >
  • > then the template tab >
  • > page elements >
  • > then in the page template, “add a page element” >
  • > in the right column,  find “html/java script” and click on “add to blog”.
  • There you can give it a title, (or not) and paste the code into the big copy block.
  • Save then go back to the “page elements” page and save again.
